Can't get the game to start

The game will launch and Steam will give me the popup saying I need to enter "special product key". I accept the Terms and Conditions of the game and then it crashing before the loading screen. I don't get any error, the game just closes. Anyone else have this issue?

So I have more information. I can get the game to work when my internet is not connected, however this means I can't play co-op which is the reason i wanted the game

by the way guys, if you want to play this game with a friend, you should just download and buy it through Microsoft Store instead of Steam. I just did it and the game works well for me, without any issues.

Yeah, thanks to this i pinpointed the problem lies at internet connection. Just not sure which causes the problem. Tried disable overlay, set to window mode, those common problem causes by steam seems to no avail. Confirm is not issue with rig causes the game can be run offline.

the game loads about 5%-10% then it crash to windows without any error.

It would be help if anyone with the same problem share some more info so i can narrow it down the problem.

I'm on windows 10 latest update with Nvidia RTX3070. Norton 360 as protection. Firewall allowed this game.

[UPDATE] I just tried install it on my laptop, and it works fine, problem is that my laptop is for half work, spec wise is not as high as my gaming PC. Both my gaming pc and the laptop reformated at the same time, using same source, similar software installed (ie. antivirus program) but with less games in it.

Same thing happening to me after changing some things in my PC, contacted with them just to get told it's a system problem and there's nothing they could do about, interesting that it being system problem so many people have it.

Thanks for all of your advice!I used to have the same problems,and I try to open the game
while disconnected from the internet,it is worked,then I reconnected and try to invite my friends,and I succeeded.Hope this will helps you.

If you have a 10th or 11th Gen Intel CPU(from the past few years) there is a chance its an issue with Unreal Engine. I found this Fix on GOG while looking for help fixing Song of Horror, and it ended up fixing Man of Medan as well. https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019775837?product=gog
