Friend's Pass not working.

The news thing about the pass says that it will only work for people who bought the game before the event ends, nowhere does it say that you have to use the Friend's Pass BEFORE the event ends. In the discussion post a dev even says "You can use it when you like."

So I just tried to open the Friend's Pass so I could send the code to my friend, but it did not give me a code like the tutorial shows, it just launched the game as normal.

What's the problem? What am I doing wrong?

Like I said.......... IT SAID YOU HAD TO PURCHASE THE GAME before the event ends to use it... a developer EVEN said in the discussion post "you can use it when you like." It did not say you had to USE IT before the event ends.

Why so nervous? I've read your thread through and it just makes no sense. The thread that I've linked clearly says that the event ends in the mid January. How is it even possible to misunderstand that? You having problems understanding things is not the dev's problem, you agree?

Here's what I did:
- installed the main game
- grabbed the CD key from the main game, gave it to my buddy to activate -> it became the "friend pass" for him
- he installed it
- we both started the friend pass variant
- I as the main game owner was able to invite him
- as a result the game asked me if I really wanted to use the friend pass

I did the same thing today and I never get the prompt "do you really want to use the friends pass"
when the friend joins I get a message that says "Your friend does not own the full game and unfortunately you do not have a friend's pass available to give them. Without a friend's pass both players require a full version of the game to play togther." and when I press Okay, it kicks back out to the menu.

Did both of you start the "friends pass" version?
Also it might help to disable library share with your friend if you have that enabled.

Regardless of what they did or did not say about the friend pass being a limited event and how, exactly, that works, when you activate the game it says "free friends pass" and on the store page it says the same. If it no longer works then it shouldn't appear on either and is, therefore, false advertising (or at the very least highly misleading) despite the disclaimer that no one will take much notice of.

Not only this but it appears on your steam account as a separate entity which would logically lead one to believe that it is usable.

Its not working anymore i contacted support and they said its expired and i so i just bought my friend a coppy ♥♥♥♥ them.

Tried it and didn't work. When did you buy the game?

Bought it Dec 19th directly through Steam.
Would be a good move to offer that friend pass at least in the store to buy for 5 bucks or so if they don't do it for free like "A way out" did.
