Friend's pass activation code

so i redownloaded the game again to have a friend try it with me, i downloaded the game first, then i downloaded the friend pass has shown in the video. (by the way it installed instantly, i didnt see/wait for a 10gig dwl like in the video)
i read that io need to install the friend pass, so i did. i did not get a window pop up telling me an activation code.
confused, i installed my normal version of the game and to my surprise, i got a cd key pop up window. but this cd appears to be the one for my full normal version of the game.

is this code the one im supposed to give my friend?

I think so. I played it just now for the first time and I wrote down that CD code.

update: we played and yes the code mentionned in my post was the one i had to give my friend. we also both had to install and launch the ''friend pass game''
the tutorial mentions that the cd key is the one for the friend pass, in reality it doesnt mention it anywhere on the cd key window, so its confusing
