Co-Op: 5 Player Offline, 2 Online?

How do you get five players offline, and why is it limited to TWO online?

This feels very..arbitrary and even backwards. I'd expect 2 player offline due to how split screen works, and 5 online for a full experience.

Can someone explain this? Does it mean CHARACTERS instead of actual people playing? Like 'Follow 2 people if you play online, but use 5 if you play alone'?

I think in Movie night mode you are sharing a controller among your friends or family and each player plays at certain parts. I'm just guessing this because the trailer showed one person playing and friends sitting around them while they played.

i jjust think instead of 5 players they meant 5 characters

like the other games untill dawn, Heavy Rain, Detroit etc

we play multi characters but singleplayer

they used the wrong only on "players" instead characters offline

Offline you can play a single screen version of the game where each player gets to play sections of the game. Online it's two people playing the game at the same time, simultaneously controlling two different characters.
