It will be like:
-The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man Of Medan
-The Dark Pictures Anthology: Demons at New York
-The Dark Pictures Anthology: Bald guy from Bra(zz)ers
-The Dark Pictures Anthology: How we didn't sell our brand to Epic Sh!t Store
-The Dark Pictures Anthology: Better than Until Dawn
And so on....
They're most likely going to be separate games. They just share the same franchise name. Think of it like Goosebumps books. They are all "Goosebumps" but each story is different from one another.
Yeah, agree.
makes absolutely no difference...
how will it seperate online? All would have to own the dlcs regardless AND choose to play that section... that makes it a seperate mode already
by making it dlc you force them to buy this version, even though they might not be interested in a ghostship / ship / divingstory... they might enjoy the next one which is about a medieval castle haunted by ghosts or whatever they will come up with.. they then would be forced to pay 60$ in order to play the dlc - hence wont pick it up unles they are super into it
standalones is the way - unles they'd be generous and have a f2p version where you can join a game of someone that owns the game and have that as basis, that would be the best way
(plus.. the game is done in lets say 16 hours with all routes together, after that you likely wont replay it -- also i doubt it has lobbys to begin with.. i think it uses friendlist only.. yet we will see)
um it does make a difference. forcing us to boot up different games for different online experiences is bad. means the newest game will always kill the old game. it's why i'm worried about all these games being different games than dlc. I'm going to buy them all but by the time we get to the 3rd game, no one will be online for this one.
And? that's how games work
your just too stupid to understand.. could you please stop replying to this thread. your clearly too simple minded to understand OP.
Oh noooo my poor feelings, they are so hurt by your comment Mr.Loser with a private steam profile like a baby
I could take or leave this idea, since they are separate stories. It's not a problem for me to select the one I want from my steam list to play. I can see more of a need if it was chapters within a longer story, but I don't think it is needed.
They are not 'Chapters' they are FULL games on their own and there will be 8 of them released over then next 5 years
Thats not how video games work. Shadow of the Tomb Raider wasn't a DLC for Rise of the Tomb Raider, Red Dead Redemption 2 was not a DLC for Red Dead Redemption.
These are NOT episodes, these are SEPARATE GAMES that they will be developing over multiple years and they will be sold separately.
+1
Exactly. Not sure why this is so difficult for people to grasp. "The Dark Pictures" is not a single game, they are announcing plans for a SERIES of games that will release over multiple years.
