"Connecting to player..."

Me and my friend were exited to play coop now on release night, but it doesn't seem to be working at all for us. Whenever one of us tries to join the other the host only sees the above message and the client sees "[Player] is currently setting up the game". We've waited a long time on this screen with no progress and both of us has tried to host.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this issue? I'm willing to try things out in order to fix this. We both have Open NAT if that is a factor.

Jonten: It helps if the host who sees this "Connecting to player" message clicks the LEAVE button and then NO when the game asks if you want to leave the session. This will allow you to move one step forward but will not solve the problem.

Check your steam name. Make sure all the nickname characters are displaying correctly. If not change the name. It should help.

Okay. So me and my friend each had nicknames for eachother (symbols showed correctly) but as soon as we both removed our nicknames for eachother it worked. Thanks Kaja108!
