Demons one.
Elementals as much as you have power to waste on. But I would not go for more than 1 spectral and 1 Physical until you have the power reserve reduction ability on max.
If you want a tank take carni, if you want power use the warper - it melts everything.

What about the ghosts on the necromancy tab?

You can completely ignore the power cost thing and just go nuts on elementals even before the reduction talent. The reason is simple. That many pets mean you don't NEED the power for anything else.

As for the demons, then the Carnagor stinks imo. It's easily confused and has no abiltiy worth mentioning. The Witch Doctor I didn't bother with either, as the elementals are strong enough without it healing. The Warper however is extremely strong due to it's spectral hits, and it's ranged meaning it's pathing and teleport never gets confused.

I'm at level 24 now with the Warper, 3 Fire, 1 Spectral, 2 Force and 1 Lightning elemental. They wreck anything they get their eyes on and can be summoned instantly with a 1-2 second cooldown. The Force elementals are also far more efficient than the Carnagor for the reason they do AOE hits that sometimes interrupts.
Just run among them with 2 guns to apply conditions. Toxic, Static and Spectral are great due to their "lockdown" abilities on enemies.

Thanks for the tips. Do you have frame rate issues with this build and what graphical setting do you use? I have tried a spectral and 2 fire elementals at low level. Frame rate drops to 1 and unplayable. Once I got rid of the spectral and the game play is back to normal.

No issues for me. I'm among the lucky ones. I have everything enabled and maxed out and never encountered the 1 FPS problem people are having.

I can imagine the Spectral one giving issues, since it looks like it has A LOT of particle effects when it does the "Grow in size" effect and pusles AOE spectral debuffing. Likewise with the Warper, because it does a stream of spectral damage, so it might be worth avoiding that one too if you have the FPS issue.
The Witch Doctor might be a better option until then. He doesn't do any kind of attacking. Just running around and healing. On the bright side he has a buttload of hit points, so he functions as a decent tank while enemies chase him around :P

Hi, I post a screenshot of global hellgate where I was summoner 55 rank 24
and as you can see, I'm invoking a maximum of 30 pets...
In fact, he's the only character with whom I could farm almost all the bosses in solo easily.

Are there any up to date descriptions of the skills, though? Does the WD only do healing?

Nope.

With "Hand of Nostrum", the Witch Doctor heals with multiple beams.

All skills in this shell release, are the ones from 10 years ago.

The goldfarmer spam in that shot reminds me of exactly why I like this single player version. :D

This is complete bull.
Each elemental costs around 30 power as permanent reduction. So if you have 100 power, you can call 3 elementals. So you can NOT ignore the power cost.

Also, elementals do a minimum of damge, all that they are good for are the elemental effects.
That's why you don't need anything else than spectral and phys. Most probably you want 10 phys as EACH one can stun an enemy and you get perm stuns on normal mobs and lots of stuns on bosses. If you want you can take one of each element and the rest phys but shocking and poison is not that much worth it.

And if you just want to destroy everything, all you need to do is 1 spectral + 2 phys until you get the reduction on max level 5. Then you invest into minion damage + minion armor + warper + spell thingy + summon circle and max power.
You need so much power that you can still fire the spell bonus for your warper and if possible elemental nova too. If you then start the spell thing for warper + elemental nova everything just goes down in 2 seconds incl. bosses.
