HELLGATE: London

HELLGATE: London

This vs revival
Night and day visually, the dx10 client and even the dx9 client in revival and vanilla looks significantly better. This version of helllgate revival looks like a game 5 years older than hellgate did at launch.

Yeah it's a pity. And people defend this mess too!

I'm really shocked by what was released. I purchased it and a copy for my other half, we both played for about 20 minutes. The translation is terrible, the new models they've replaced the original models with are awful, the animations...ugh, just waiting for the refund to be processed.

Same. Revival is pretty great, Go with that. If they ever import dx10 and the old models, i'll repurchase at whaever the full price is. It's not worth it currently.

I only defend this because unfortunately it's the only way to play expansions as offline single player, which you can't do in revival. Otherwise yeah revival is great stuff.

Why were you shocked? This isn't a new game. It came out a long time ago. It is exactly as they said in the store description (Tokyo 2.0 client). Even if you didn't play Hellgate: Global back in the day you can use Google and quickly find out what it was. The steam release is exactly what we were playing when the servers went down for Hellgate: Global. Nothing has changed except the cash shop being gone.

Game looks fine to me, just as good as the other versions of it.

0/10

I didn't play Hellgate Global, I played Hellgate London under Flagship and expected that Hellgate: Tokyo would be a follow on from that. I was pretty gutted when Flagship went under and kept playing the copy I had at the time which has been unfortunately lost to computer crashes. I was looking forward to adding this game to my steam library.

Unfortunately, I got this atrocious piece of excrement with the character models changed from the original and full of Engrish. I'm not paying for that.

I have the original flagstaff game on my computer. I have compared screen shots side by side basically, even as close as possible to compare textures. Difficult to see any difference. During gameplay, you would never notice. Also, I see no issue with the english at all, perfectly understandable. The only real issue encountered is the 1 fps freeze bug, which is only occasional.

found the old original flagship copy

installed the 1.2 patch and also the revival

it got 64 bit support and DX10

and more importantly, did not encounter that fps freeze so far, even during heavy combat

really cant comprehend why somebody suggested we should accept the re-release mess because it is an old game and is selling at a relatively low price

I went back to Revival for my solo play, Steam version is just too screwed up to the point of being nearly unplayable, it's hard to deal with an FPS slideshow every couple of minutes which has no fix.
Shame

You don't have to accept it, nor could anyone defend the fact they haven't fixed some stuff that plagued global.
Anyway for some here have no issues with fps freezes etc, and are happy that we got expansions content to pure single player only for the first time ever.

Because there isn't any. Those claiming DX9 vs DX10 or Revival/Original vs Global look drastically different are blatant liars and/or talking out of their asses...

DX10 only adds minor visual differences (volumetric smoke, weather particles, motion blur, and depth of field) and actually has a ton of rendering and performance bugs associated with it. It didn't change textures, lighting, models, or animations. While technically the Global client uses different player models (of much higher quality, though some like to whine about the Korean hairstyles....... on a character they'll almost never see the hair of), everything else is the same... and ultimately has nothing to do with DX9 vs DX10.. nor is it something noticeable during normal play.

How do you clean the brown stain off your tongue? Do you have to use a special prescription rinse? Or do you just ignore it and don't care how visible it is?

you do realized that it is possible to have the physical disc still with you and not have the game on steam right?

Saying that the person dont own a game and thus cant contribute to the discussion is just a bad move

I agreed. I too have reinstalled the disc version and there isn't a huge difference. This one problem right now is that for the Steam version to be playable, I need to keep lowering the setting. That makes the Steam version much worse than the original version at max setting.

So, all down to the 1 fps fix.

Did you know that not all versions can install the revival mod? I own the Southeast Asia version and the best I can do is single player 1.2 pack patch. No revival. No London 2038.

I hope you now can comprehend.
