HELLGATE: London

Finally fixed the FPS bug without Augmentex.
So Augmentex wasn't working for me for some reason (it couldn't find the DLLs), so I just suffered through the slowness for awhile. I turned off all the ingame bells and whistles (low shaders and effects, no vsync, all the recommended stuff online). I still got the bug but it never completely crashed like before.

Then, when it got really bad, I CTRL+ALT+DELed to open task manager to see what was up. I closed Task Manager via the icon in my tray, and it killed explorer.exe for some reason. I didn't start it back up and went back to the game and... no more FPS drops. I believe not having explorer running freed the entire CPU to handle the terrible optimization of the game, because I played through big problem spots and even face some bosses with no issue in an hour. I even restarted the game, killed explorer again, and no issues at all.

So, if you are still having the FPS issue in Windows 10 with a Intel CPU, give this a shot - kill explorer in task manager and run the game.

Note: I also use ReShade to add in AA, sharpening, and color level balancing instead of the in-game stuff. The game still looks pretty nice with no FPS problem!

Except explorer.exe is literally your desktop, so anyone reading this trying to resolve their issue just know if you end the explorer.exe process, you turn your desktop off lol.

What is the exact name of the process? If you disable explorer, the screen simply turns off.

If this fixes it its simple to restart your desktop, so its not really an issue.

Hellgate London 2038 is your permanent solution - No fps bug, online multiplayer, better graphics, more content.....go go go

Explorer.exe is something Microsoft needs to fix. It's been closing out on Windows 11.

This fix does not work. Only 5 minutes into the game and I already had the FPS dropping too 1. I restarted "windows explorer" but that didn't fix a thing.

This worked on Windows 10, no clue about Windows 11. To start explorer again hit window+R to start the Run program and just put in "explorer"

Basically this frees ALL of you CPU to run the game. If your CPU can't single thread up to 4.5 GHz this won't do a thing.

Also, once you are finished and want to get back to having your desktop, you can go to Task Manager > file on the top left > run new task > and simply type in explorer instead of rebooting.

yeh but how do you get the original installation of hellgate? i have looked everywhere, vague answer...
This solution of explorer.exe removal, worked for me only for some hours like 5 or 7hours more gameplay, i thinking this fixed my fps problem, but after playing for 6hours the second day i play, the problem back again, and now its 1fps to freeze the game entirely, for me this solution not worked for long, sorry, i not know what to do... i liked this game but freezing for 1 minute without reason or 1fps for 1minute out of nowhere is a joke and gaming break problem!

I want to play but this is impossible, sorry, i give this game a thumbs down, the developer not even work to solve the fps problem for years, and i abanddon this game right now, it's sad, the game is very fun to play, i like, but with this freezing and 1fps problem is impossible to continue playing and trying!

my cpu is a i7 7700K 4.2GHz and 32gb ddr4 ram and a gtx1080 rog strix gaming!
