If you had not figured it yourself I would have suggested it.
Quite often you can go find a games config file and change a value. It would probably have a .cfg file extension. Sometimes lives in the main games directories but might be in with the save files. You would have to search for that which can be the longest step in the process.
In Steam you can RMB the games name and browse local files or it might be in your C:\Users\yournamehere\AppData\Local or LocalLow or Roaming or maybe even in C:\Users\yournamehere\Documents\ or C:\Users\yournamehere\Documents\SavedGames
ie change 'Fullscreen true' to 'Fullscreen false' or Fullscreen 1' to "Fullscreen 0'. Sometimes it will be 'windowed' or whatever but it is often easy to figure out.
Windows notepad is often enough to open a config file to edit it.
In your Steam library RightMouseButton on the title of the game and select 'manage' - 'browse local files'
Somewhere in there should be an application with the file extension .exe.
RMB on this and go to whatever tab has the option. 'Properties' then 'Compatibility' I think. There should be a setting on that page.
FixScreenOrientation = 1 and change it to FixScreenOrientation = 0
This fixed it for Windows 10 on my machine :)
