Having your resolution reset every single time you start the game up.

Achievements feel random. I just cured my *first* townie, the first time i had the plague and got the 100x achievement. Others happened on what felt way too early for what they said like 200 tools the season after my first toolshop

6 of the achievements showed up in the game pop up, but not the steam pop up. They showed up the next time i logged in as if i had just earned them, all at once, so it was weird to get achievements for logging in. Continued to happen during later play sessions. more a bug than a complaint, but it is still a negative at this point.

Prestige only for upgrades? How drunk do you need to be to think this is even remotely a good change. Prestige was basically the P2W function in the mobile game, or the way to get you to watch ads. Somehow there is no way to get easy prestige and you require it for arguably the most important function of the game.

Prestige not being carried over from map to map. So now not only is it required for upgrades, it is basically impossible to get until after you have finished the map.

Speaking of upgrades. Many (All i've checked) of the upgrades seem to only open up slots for more workers, and not actually improve the workers? (foresters hut 15s for 4 wood at level 1, same as level 3). Completely drags the maps out, making already long maps even longer. Coupled with more than double the repair costs, it is cheaper to just build extra buildings rather than upgrading (especially since the upgrade prices of prestige only make it nearly impossible to upgrade anything). A level 2 foresters hut with 2 workers in the mobile version was basically equivalent to 4 lvl 1 huts, making the upgrade much more efficient than building a new one, now building a new one only downside is time it takes to build it.

When I go into a building, i have to go into the drop down menu to see how many buildings I have of that type. Should just be in in the info pane saying how many of X buildings I have without digging that far.

lack of cards /rollseyes sorry had to be said (apparently when i restarted steam they showed up, but no where as many as i would have expected for time played? and none during my next session, will edit if they show up the next time i start steam)

There are some POSITIVE changes, but they dont make up for some completely brain dead decisions.

Fast Forward going through seasonal changes is nice.

Menus tend to be better, once i can reprogram my brain to find where everything is.

The top bar where people/happy/storage/etc is very nice.

The left bar where all of the alerts popping up is nice, and it is great that they stack, and when you click it you can scroll between the buildings affected.

2 Builders is nice.

Auto Tax collection is nice.

Research progress carrying over from one map to the next. (honestly I dont know if the mobile/old version of the game do this or not, Ive always just let it finish before moving on, but with the way the tutorial worked I noticed it here). Not sure if no research costs are a good or bad thing. a bit easier, but not really that big of a deal as i'd normally wait till i finished a map and then buy whatever things i needed.

The click and hold over a building menu. Repairing is much nicer. Not sure if the +/- workers are the best choices, I think id rather see costs to finish or upgrade than these, that id rarely use, but that is personal and maybe others use it more often than i would.

If this was an early access thing, or a build that was pushed out to anyone who owned the old version, before the actual version went on sale, i could understand some of the negatives. But this version is for sale, so many of the design decisions feel very opposite to quality of life updates.

Overall, I'd rather play the original game that the 3rd party dev just ignored for the last few years.

Thanks for your valuable feedback!

The resolution doesn't reset when we tested. What settings do you use that are always discarded after restart?

The achievement behaviour we have to check. Could be that there went something wrong in the transition to Steam.
Update: The cure 100 plagued Townies was wrong and achieved after curing 1, that should be fixed now.

The prestige for upgrades and the whole upgrade balancing is under investigation. I can't promise any fast changes there but at least we are already discussing what/if we should/could change to make it feel better for the players.

Trading cards were just going live during the weekend, sorry for the delay.
Update: Also they are set to 2 hours which I admit is very long for 7 cards to drop but seems like we can't change that anymore.

We are sorry to hear that you prefer the old version despite all of the positive changes we made to the game :steamsad:

my monitor is funky old and overscans. I set it to Borderless window 1824 x 1026. anytime i reopen the game it changes it to bordeless window 1920 x 1080. I just need to switch it to fullscreen exclusive and then when i switch it back to borderless window it automatically picks 1824 x 1026. 4 clicks to change it isnt bad, just odd.

ya a lot of my achievements that have trackable amounts, seem to be frozen still. all my population have been stuck at 61 for a few maps. my bread produced has been stuck at 999. haven't really noticed all the rest of them, just those 2 stuck out for the last 3 maps.

prestige and upgrades just make me sad (and bitter)

ya cards showed up after i posted it. realized they were 2 hours a bit later.

i mean im still playing it for the 6th or 7th time through, so it isnt bad, it just feels the most grindy. which just seems odd since it isn't based on getting us to do micro transactions.

We just checked and this is actually intended. Those achievements count on one map only and don't carry over. So you have to produce such amount on the same map. If you start a new map you will start with 0 count on that achievement.
The problem is that the achievement description doesn't mention that. We will see if we can update those.

I have had multiple maps with over 100 families, and it says i have 61 population.

and that is how the old games worked, so not a huge surprise. (per map achievements)

Hmm ok, we have to check if there is a problem with the population counter. With producing things it seems to work.
Also there is always this problem with families vs Townies (male ones) which is unclear. Could be that it only counts the Townies for that achievement and not the family members (so population of 61 would be 122 family members)

yes, but the counter in the upper left bar shows families, and i've had over 100 there, which would mean 100+ families and 200+ population.

seems the achievement text all changed to 'in a town' or 'in one town'

i had 16 large houses, 13 normal. for 106 families and 212 population. showed 61 population. (i dont have the extra family per house research yet)
added 5 more large houses, trying to test if maybe there was a bug in translating families to population halfing it instead of doubling it. the moment i went from 121 families to 131 families (finished 2 at once) the x/200, x/300, x/500 all updated to 127, however the x/100 still shows 61. So it seems it counts families, but not sure what triggers it updating.

adding a large townhouses (136) and the larger 3 didnt update, let it run 10 minutes and didnt update.

Exited game completely and then ran the game, as soon as the main screen showed up the x/100 (as well as some others, only one i read fast enough was x/1000 bread) achievement popped up. But my progress on the larger was still stuck at 132.

Thanks for providing such detailed numbers and do the testing for us!

This game would be good but I decided to stop playing It a long time ago since there is no editor to make your own maps. I refuse to support a game that shows promise. No disrespect towards the developer but this is just a opinion.
