the control options told me it was left mouse button. what did i do wrong?
I spent over 30 hours in this game before being able to figure out how to board ships confidently, and that's all because I didn't know the importance of crew. When you try to board a ship with significantly more crew than yours, all of the enemies kill you in one hit and take no damage. If you have the appropriate crew, they're on par with bandits you find in the jungle. Boarding ships is extremely easy early game as long as you pick your targets. Do it for a little bit and before you know it, you're drowning in gold.
After you buy Mahogany, go to Fort de france tavern and speak to the shady character. He is a smigler. Arrange a meeting with him at the shore he will tell you and go there with your ship via fast travel, not via world map. You buy mahogany at 100 and sell at 600 each piece. Continue until rich.
Press Tab. I recommend you slow the game speed down while doing this to look for ports since you can get wrecked by enemy ships pretty easily while not focused on your ship.
eed again?
Have no skills, no totems, no officiers and 100 gold.
To hire officers I need some money, so went outside the Wilhelmstadt and met 3 bandits running after a girl. But they are too strong for me.
Finally killed them - no loot, so, coost point - 4 poisons I have taken to survive.
Meals on board are for 26 days.
No idea how to survive yet. Any suggestions please? :)
Your best bet is to play with Peter Blood. And if you play your cards right you will end up with twoo officers, navigator and cannoner, very good early weapons medium sabre and decent pistol and most importantly around 90.000 piasters. Just remember to sell cannons seaparatly and then the frigate. And now buy yourself a schooner and you will still be left with 40k piasters or 50k depends.Thats the best early start in my opinion. Oh and i play vanila so if you play with mods it might be diffrent.Almost forgot, when you sell the frigate, first apoint an officer on frigate and buy yoursel a tartane for the time being and the sell the frigate. I hope it helps.
