Gentlemen of Fortune MOD
Hey guys!

Great to see this game on Steam. Loved it and many years ago finished all the game and Governer missions.

Wanted to ask does anyone knows if the Gentlemen of Fortune MOD will work on Steam?

I am willing to be the first to try it if noone knows. But I am not sure what's the last GOF mod, last patch, is there more than one mod?

Please help!

For the newest "Gentlemen of Fortune: Historical Eras II" mod
you will need the "Gentlemen of Fortune: Maelstrom Engine".
You have to buy it for 12 $ and no there is no way around.

Mod: https://chezjfrey.itch.io/gentlemen-of-fortune-historical-eras-module-2

Engine: https://chezjfrey.itch.io/gentlemen-of-fortune-maelstrom-engine

Last version of GOF ERAS mod that was free was Version 2.8.7.
This Version is "Standalone", you don't need anything to play it.
I play this version and it's still awesome!

Thanks for sharing the 2 links above.
I'm thinking of buying the Maelstrom engine and then download one of the latest mods, but I'm having some confusion:

1) Which mod is the latest with most component features? (and least buggy)

2) Is there anyway to download them via torrent? I am seeing them 10-12 GB and my windows browser cannot handle big downloads like that; it will keep interupting unless it's torrent

I don't own it by myself, i'am still at Version 2.8.7 because it's free version.
It was the last version before it became pay to play and it runs very fine.

Here you can find everything about this mod.

This is the newest release of the mod, its 24 days old and free.
But you will need "Gentlemen of Fortune: Maelstrom" in order to play it.

Aye I just bought the engine. Worth it if it trully is bug-free and crash-free as the developer claims, so I hope it is.
I also installed Itch, similar to Steam but they allow many non-licensed developers to submit games, so I allowed Itch to install my purchased Maelstrom and now time to decide on a mod.

Gentlemen of Fortune 2.5
Historical ERAS II

One of these two, still trying to figure out which I have played and which I haven't. Most likely ERAS

@Najamal ... sent you a friend request. Thought that might allow a private message? Do they have that feature here? Anyway, I have something for you if you can give me an email somehow.

Anyway, Maelstrom is about to be updated again, probably today or tomorrow with some more fixes/updates. It's always being worked on to fix any problems, unlike these old version with no support.

@Barbarossa, frankly the best versions offered are GOF 1.2 and ERAS II, mostly because those are the ones that we are most familiar with and have extensively tested, with an edge given to ERAS, further because that is the only one we are still adding content/features, while the others remain static and only get occasional bug fixes.

Nice, so ERAS it is.
I hope theres a torrent-like or Steam-like download option.

With respect to Maelstrom update, it means I have to reinstall the whole file again or is it like Steam whereas I just download the small file batch for the update?
Barbarossa Bey Jul 5, 2019 @ 10:09am
Btw I just realized you are the same chez I sent payment to. Good to see you are active here as well
chezjfrey Jul 5, 2019 @ 10:41am
If you use the Itch client to download both Maelstrom and the various mods, instead of a browser download, then all updates will be incremental with only files that have changed. If you download with a browser, then you would have to download the entire thing each time.

I would not recommend a browser download for the mods, especially, as the resources are immense.
