I hate it. Let's start off by talking about what this game is essentially. A theft of one's own bodily autonomy. Imagine the frustration of a rubix cube when you don't know the math required to solve a rubix cube. Add moving pieces so that the rubix cube stickers keep shifting on their own. That's what you get with this game. Let's not forget this game also has a special side to the rubix cube that you need to solve first, because if you don't God help you. You'll need to retry OVER AND OVER AND OVER. That's right folks, this is an annoying experience. This is the first time I'm back doing reviews after a long break where I just wasn't writing anything. That seems weird to me. And it felt weird, but here I am, back at it again trying to remove my brain from my fingertips in a body horror-style lobotomy. Anyway, subscribe to my channel on youtube. its a puzzle game but it feels lacking.

Ah, Love! is a 2D retro pixel tile matching/pathing puzzle game that's been slapped together with the godawful GameMaker Studio video game construction kit from Yoyogames. There's a fairly unique concept here, as there's two half-hearts that move towards each other but can't meet because the various tiles in each level don't provide a path for them to do so, so your goal is to drag and drop the tiles and rearrange them so that a clear direct path permits the two hearts to meet. But you have to plan carefully, as each level has a limited number of tile swaps. That's all there is to it.

They chose to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC. This really feels more like a mobile app than a PC game, although a lot of that will be due to the godawful GameMaker Studio construction kit.

GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and unsurprisingly results in products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. Using a video game construction kit requires little to no talent or skill as a game developer. Very often, GameMaker Studio is used to make shovelware and lazy cash grabs, although the developers have made this free, originally they were charging for it.

I really feel this is the kind of thing that you'd expect to see in app stores rather than on PC. Low quality implementation (thanks GameMaker), locked resolution and mobile app tier game depth makes this impossible to recommend to any enthusiast PC gamer.
