How do you farm GP during story mode?

I somehow have way too much ore yet no papers, been rushing to unlock endless and prestige to see if that helps speed up GP gains. Made a custom map but it's not much better at farming GP compared to normal levels.

Efficient GP grinding is mostly playing custom maps that are a straight line with 8 spawners teleporting enemies onto that straight line, and using one of several farming variations for 30-90 second runs.
If you don't have a portal pair yet, you can make the same map with 2 portals at the start of the line (where your tower is) instead.
Current main variations are flamethrower+tesla, or laser by itself. You can also probably do semi decent with multi as well. Really just looking for aoe towers, flamethrower has the best base AoE, Laser arguably probably works more efficiently once you get full upgrades, and especially once you make significant progress into the endless research.

Non-efficient GP grinding, but in a way that's significantly more fun, is either replaying levels or making a long-duration custom map - Due to quests, milestones and how prestige works, it's probably better to replay normal levels (1.1 is fairly fast once you unlock tesla) if you're not interested in doing pure GP farming.

A useful tip once you get a decent amount of research is to turn on instant wave calls - You likely won't make it to your max possible each round, but the attempts will be MUCH faster, netting you higher GP/minute income. However, always make sure to do at least 1 milestone round until you get the final milestone, as the final milestones on the majority of levels (anywhere there's a ?) unlocks a small permanent buff, and those that don't, provide relatively high tier chests.

how do you turn on instant wave calls? like do you mean auto? i've left auto on since i started playing on every level lol :(

hit ESC right hand side there is a little red switch, flip it to green and the waves overlap and blitz you. if you dont have a good set up you will take the L QUICK

Will do that then, one question though. Does stacking 8 portals make a difference? I tried that and the amount of enemies remains the same, just split between them. That's in normal since I don't have endless yet.

For now I will settle on running an easy custom map where I can just max 1 cannon then put down every miner and sell the ores. 1k vector is 6k GP, and im mining 4 kinds so it's good profit.

8 portals is about twice as much loot per minute that 1 portal IIRC.
