Is there a way to empty trash disposals?

Scrap parts, used/filled oil pans, etc. are literally piling through the roof at this point.
Button to "sell scrap" in the garage app doesn't work.
Tells me every time that "There's no scrap to sell."
Is there another way to empty it or do I have to just pile on till it reaches the ISS?

Haven't played in ages, but try right clicking on the bin and there should be an option

Its been a long time since I last played it, but I think it can be emptied if you bring up the menu while you are interacting with it (have the beam or whatever pointed at it) there should be a menu option to empty trash.
