Attribute Points wise:
Damage / hp / defense. i would say, put 6 in both a.speed and critical chance and rest of points in 3 / 2 / 3 wise dmg / hp / def.
when retire put for every retire 1 in a.speed and crit, rest as above, until crit increase per point becomes 0.5 per.
then do the 2 points in a.speed until a.speed base is 100-ish. then full dmg / hp / def.
Skills wise:
unlock all skills (1 in every skill (not a +)), which activates them in fights, then put offensive and defensive style +1/2, taste of blade +1, combat heal +2, ressurection +2. Defense style, heal and res are important if you die a lot. (keep in mind to try to go as high as possible on level before retirement).
Lightning strike and Furious Jump become handy when leveling gets easier (retirement 5-6+).
Rest is up to you.
Remember that min/maxing is key ^^
