Too easy to escape from the cops

If I am running from the cops and I am at maximum stars, it doesn't feel difficult to get away, even if i stop and waste a few I don't feel under any threat. I now find myself killing the swat guys just for the ammo. Can I suggest a more difficult setting with higher player damage?
Could the driving and pursuit AI be made smarter and more aggressive? I would love a really good car chase but so far its been easy to escape.
Its a fun game but with a higher difficulty to chases and being wanted it would be awesome.

Funny thing about cops is if you're in a vehicle pursuit you only have to get out and get back in. Reason for this is that the AI isn't programmed to get in the nearest police car to continue the chase.

ok... So I guess you did something to the cops coz can I hell as loose them.
