Put between 0 (yeah, zero, nothing, nada) and 500 inside each one. Where zero would have a 50% chance and 500 only 1%, so people will have a hard time milking money with it.
The moment the player take the ATM you get five stars (we're talking banks here)! You have to evade the police while keeping the atm attached (if you lose it, its gone! The cops will take hold of it).
After losing the cops you have to go to an empty place and crack the ATM with a crowbar!
Edit: And make it harder to tow! Make the player be stucked for a few seconds before being able to pull it of the ground.
Great idea, only bills are a bit harder to spend soaked in ink. Fussy shopkeepers!
Me too! Money definitely isnt an issue and would be nice if things like cars and guns/ammo would be a little more expensive!
At the same time, money will dry out after the end game because you will have no more means to earn money and if you like to keep creating havoc and destruction like me.
- time trials
- hidden stashes
- fencing art
The above are repeatable only to a limit, but there are more ways still. Besides just finding cash on the ground all over the damn place (I've found as much as $50 at once), it seems like you can rob shops in perpetuity and they seem to always have more cash.Doesn't seem to be an end to valuables you can fence at the pawn shop neither. They seem to reappear in already burgled homes after some time, which makes sense since I killed the previous occupants. I'd say I feel bad for realtors in this town, but there seems to be no shortage of new home-buyers.
Also you can straight-up rob fools which is probably the slowest gain, each mark having just enough for a couple beers, but it's pretty easy to camp out and keep mugging people repeatedly without getting caught. Just like camping with dad when I was a kid, rule #1 was haul the carcass into woods out of sight.
I'm 14 hours in and must be very close to the end of the story now, yet I haven't spent any money whatsoever on anything other that skill upgrades because there's no need to. There's always a car nearby when you need one, always a cop nearby if you need a weapon, enough med packs as loot to fill your entire inventory, crowbars laying around all over the place, etc etc. Money could literally be removed and it wouldn't have changed my game experience. And without the story to give me something to do, I can see robbing houses and holding up stores getting old very quickly.
This is not a complaint, by the way. It's a fun game and I think the 14 hours of entertainment it's provided me so far are already well worth the price I paid. I just don't see that there is enough non-story content to keep me occupied more than an extra hour or so.
I kind of like it how it is now, if anyone spots you doing illegal stuff they call the cops, or if the cops see you towing an ATM they jump on you. Maybe if you get spotted do a instant 3 star or something to get some heat, i mean its just an ATM not Trumps secret porn stash....
Kind of like the house burgarly... if you smash a window thats an instant alarm, but if you use a lockpick you dont get alarm. Its normal for some people to have alarm but not everyone, even the small sheds automatically calls the police when you smash a window without anyone around.
Not that its a big issues since you get enough time to empty the sheds before the cops turn up but still...
But i would love to see some more jobs in the game, the first thing i did after the intro was run into the crane at the junkyard. I jumped inside and turned a car and some wrecks into metal boxes. Would be kind of nice if you could collect those with a truck or something and drop em off somewhere and earn a few bucks or stuff like that. But yeah money dont have much use in this game right now, only thing iwe spent money on is skills and lockpicks.
Simple option would be to allow us to use only the high quality crowbar to pry it open since that isn't something you easily find lying around like the average to bad crowbar. You lose the crowbar and gain a 2 to 3 star wanted level but also some decent cash like say $200 similar to what you find in stashes and safes.
Should also make it a skill that way its not something people can take advantage of early on. Probably make it cost 6 to 8 skill points maybe.
HOW the hell do I lose the cops with a 5 star warrent and in a slowass towtruck with an ATM attached?! Pretty please.
