Haus's Rites of Passage is Broken; What can I do? (Solved: It was a glitch.)
I have completed the first two rites of passage, Sacrifice in the first house on the right, and Suffering in the second house on the left. This was supposed to open the first house on the left where I would complete the Confession rite, but the door is locked on its other side, and there is no other apparent means of entry. Throwing a grenade inside after breaking a pane of glass accomplished nothing, and I can proceed no further in this DLC. My current objective on my HUD is "Find the final rite of passage."

Stumped, I climbed into the sole accessible window of the second house on the right, even though there's not supposed to be anything there for me to do right now. One door in that room is permanently blocked, and the other is blocked from the other side. There's something by the front door that I'm supposed to destroy with the not-yet-obtained crossbow, and I can see a pickup item on a second-story windowsill.

The quest is broken, progress forward is blocked, and I can't return to any other map. There's only one thing possible for me to do, verify the game cache.

Verifying game cache didn't work. In fact, it made something weird happen. A waypoint led me out of Haus and pointed me to the personal storage locker in Grace's SoLa survival cellar. When I reached it, the prompt vanished. Chagrined, I returned to Haus to find that gawdamned house where I'm supposed to confess is still locked up tight.

A note about getting to other maps: Before I'd checked file integrity, there was no way out, only forward. Now there is a way in and out, but the way back to Haus is only at Emma's place in Bel-Air. I'm still very much screwed, though, as there's nothing left to do anywhere but in Haus, but Haus is BROKEN!

you have go to the adjacent house and go through to the basement ( electrocute yourself in pool down there it will open door to the house you need to be at ..

and please refer to some guides and walk through's before posting ..

your posts are taken up pages of mostly nothing to be alarmed over ..

Thanks, Native. They could have found a way to give players a friggin' clue that the DLC wasn't gawdamned broken, like have Carla (or whichever avatar was chosen by the player) say, "Hey! What was that noise? I better find out!"

Well, it's too late for me now! I've already started NG+ without 100% Haus progress, no gawdamned crossbow. Exported everything I felt would give me the best edge. I'll run through the main storyline first, ignoring Lost & Found, et cetera, until I finish Haus. Then, after I get the crossbow, I'll go back and start doing the missions that I neglected so that I can actually use a weapon for lots of gameplay. Pretty damned stupid to make the best weapons unavailable for most of the game, until after the storyline's finished. I'm not saying I should have access to the best weapons immediately, but at least at 70% complete. 100% is friggin' ridiculous: So you get to the end, and now you've got the best weapons. what are you going to use them on? The game is done!
good thing you didn't get the crossbow ..

for the rest of the game it only takes up space in storage ..

you can't drop it or sale it ..

only the one's you buy can be sold or dropped ..

~your stuck with it in locker storage
Solution!
On my next NG+ playthrough, the basement passageway to the other house appeared. I guess the previous playthrough glitched, because that passageway hadn't opened then.

When I got to the end of the DLC, my stupid Carla said something about picking up loot before she left. Two problems with that: 1) What loot? There wasn't any damned loot to pick up. 2) The F prompt didn't say EXIT or LEAVE. I had erroneously assumed that I'd get the gawdamned loot after pressing F, so I had no chance at all of doing anything before I'd intended to leave.

...And like NativeOne said, that friggin' rare prototype crossbow is a piece of crap that permanently reduces your inventory; you can't sell, drop, or scrap the piece of gawdamned garbage. Ammendment: I was very unhappy with that damned thing because the first time I tried to put it in a storage locker, it was invisible, couldn't do it. I decided to try once more, and it transferred to the locker. Now I'm much less unhappy with it; I can stand to lose one out of 64 slots.

LOL
told you so ..

(normal play through only)
The only remedy to get rid of it (crossbow) is to start a new character you have no intention of finishing ..

you have to play the beginning until you get access to the locker ..

Take the crossbow out place it in your personal self inventory ..
Then quit that game -then DELETE that character in lobby ..
LOL ..

((doesn't work for NG+ your stuck with it ..))

i had three of them i had to get rid of before starting a fresh game run i was gonna stick with ..

it only affects regular play through so i always start a new game just to get rid of it ..
NG+ the locker is empty of everything ..

~hope that helps
