Superior Melee Mutilator Mod is missing; same thing with basement vehicle.
The Superior Melee Mutilator Mod is supposed to be in the Serling Reception Safe, in the hotel's safe zone., but it's not. I've got the damned key, but the safe refuses interaction. And I can't get the pickup from the white van/SUV in the basement for the same reason: No prompt appears.

This is very, very confusing. The next time I got a weapon perk, I looked at the weapon mods shown. Impossibly, it is there. I have 32 weapon mods, all of them but a mysterious 33rd mod labeled with a question mark. I have all four of each type of ranged weapon mod, and the same for melee weapons. Thing is, I did NOT pick up the Superior Melee Mutilator Mod in that inaccessible location, so I have no damned idea how it got into my inventory.

I'm wondering if the same thing happened with whatever I was supposed to get from the white van or SUV in the basement. Both locations are still showing as unlooted, waiting to be picked up.

Supposedly, the Superior Melee Mutilator Mod can be applied to any melee weapon in the game; this means you can equip it on swords, axes, hammers, knives, and any other melee weapon you find, allowing for increased mutilation damage on your attacks. However, this is patently not true; there are a number of melee weapons where that mod cannot be applied because it doesn't appear as an option at workbenches. Can someone explain that?

I just want to say, I'm just as clueless as you are about this. But from what I understand, certain weapons can only have certain mods put on them; so for example, a weapon like the sledgehammer can only have elemental mods, and impact mods put on it, not a mutilator mod. I'm not too far into the game though, so I have no clue if that changes at all.
Cwwusadew: I'm on a different playthrough now, but this time there's a different impediment to securing this mod: The concierge isn't spawning. Already finished the story quest here and in Haus, all the Lost & Found quests are done in LA as well as almost all of the side quests, and still that gawdamned rat-bastid isn't appearing.
