Combat is lackluster (co-op)
We play as team of 3 and it takes 4 to 5 hits with a rare modded weapon for each of us. Compared to dyinglight it is so sluggish and I am scared my friends will stop playing. What are your suggestions. What are we doing wrong? there is no difficulty setting. we did 2 side quests and 6 main storz quests and so far it is not looking good. I still dont understand how I can punch through a zombies skull with a claw and get so little damage.. it should be instant kill...

Depends on the character, the cards and the level of said weapon. Not sure why you'd compare to dying light which combat and gameplay is different. Dying light is some combat but mostly parkour this game is focused on combat. But I played solo not sure if there's any scaling for coop.

Dude combat is same... movement, dodge, kicks, dmaage profiles of the weapons (slash, blunt etc). We dont have stmaina but we have to beat a zombie so much to kill them,it is not just blunt weapons, katanas knifes and claws are the same. In co-op we are all different characters I am playing as jacob, my friends are dani and bruno. We try to mix up our cards but so far zombie killing is more tedeous than fun compared to any other zombie game... I just wonder if we are doing something wrong or any tips people can give us.

i don't know what to say.
game is too easy for me. i have to play with masochist card

May be read the tutorials, watch some video,...

edit : use war cry + cry ralllement card and abuse of it when it is tedious if you have access to these cards

It's not the same, dying light has abilities tied to parkour, based on that statement all melee combat systems are the same in your eye's. Only other thing I can suggest it using curveballs for synergies or use the initial skills of each character more effectively.

You have to be blind to not see how the both game look and play. You dont event need the parkpur skills. Basic combat is same. Even dyinglight is developend by old dead island team... you either want to close your eyes to not see how sluggish dead island 2 is or you are just a hyped fan ready to defend it.
