Performance issues i can't fix (laptop)
I'm having performance issues with Dead Island 2 on my laptop. I play on ASUS Rog Strix G17 with RTX 3060 card and AMD Ryzen 7 6800H processor with 16 GB RAM DDR5. During gameplay, the graphics card usage does not exceed 50%. There are temporary jumps to 75% and then i have sudden fps drops below 50%. I even have performance problems in the main menu right after starting the game. I get a maximum of 45 fps in this game. However, it often drops even to 25 fps so game is not stable at all. Its unplayable for me. Have any of you had similar problems and managed to solve them somehow? Even changing the graphics settings to low doesn't help much. I get maybe 5 more fps after changing to the lowest graphics settings

The game is CPU heavy, And 6800H is not even on any CPU benchmark charts. You can't expect much from your laptop.

Hey, if this persists, consider a ticket with support so they can look into it! https://to.plaion.com/DI2Support

Game isn't CPU heavy at all. Been watching mine, usage went up less than using a web browser.

Not CPU intensive you say. So, for example in an intensive area like here:

My Cpu load looks like this:

My 13900KS get some of it's cores 100% busy therefore not being able to run the game @120fps. Running at 1440p native, 90fov, everything on ultra but I had to set shadows and special effects to high to bypass the CPU bottleneck. Plus there are no zombies and nothing happens.
I'd like to know your solution, might help us all here. Thank in advance.

Ok, I understand that I don't have the most powerful gaming equipment today, but isn't it weird that the graphics card can't do more with a CPU max load of 75% ? (according to the information about the usage of pc components displayed by MSI Afterburn during the game) Graphic card usage (only in this one game) does not go beyond 20%. I lowered everything including the resolution to the minimum and this changed nothing with the performance. The strange thing is that the fans do not go to higher speeds in the laptop , even in Turbo mode. It looks like the graphics card is not responding as it should. Something like as if I hadn't connected the laptop to the power supply

Got the same hardware like in this video and the game runs good on it. Enough for me to play it comfortable.

This is short video captured on the start of the game. All minimum and resolution is lower than 1080p. You can see low usage of the card and lags even it shows enough fps to play

For me the game started to be really stuttery after the hotfix on the 14th. Performance took a big hit, lol

Indeed, it's weird. Is it the same laptop ?
You should add CPU usage for each individual thread. I had some bad experience with Afterburner recently as it stopped showing the correct CPU usage. So you can also check it in the task manger or via another 3rd party tool.
Have you tried to:
-set your laptop to max performance under Power Management when it's plugged in ?
-set you GPU to max performance in the NVIDIA control panel for this game ?
I can see a few possible reasons.
Preinstalled bloatware running in the background
CPU / GPU power limitation
CPU / GPU temp limitation set lower that they should be.
NVIDIA instant replay is activated (or whatever it's called, Shadowplay or smth I've never used any of this features).
