How to join a friends game on the same network

I just solved this for myself and thought other people might want a workaround. My son and I are on the same network and when we try and join each others games get an instant disconnection upon trying to join each other, but we can join any random lobby. As far as I can guess the anticheat system thinks two people connecting from the same network is the same license and boots you. I put my son on my phones hotspot, put myself on our home network so we are connecting from two different networks - instant co op connection no more issues.

You can also use a separate IP domain created in your router just for that purpose ..

however you have to set that command to that IP in his steam game launcher for the game ..

just remember once steam is sync to launcher it will be there probably forever ..
(unless you remove it by a counter launcher command)
