No Nvidia App Profile?!
Is there really no Nvidia app profile for this title? Seems surprising given it's a popular franchise. If I add the game manually, I am told "Program Doesn't Support Optimisation".

FYI - I wanted to use Nvidia app to limit fps to 95 (I game on 100Hz gsync display), although if I'm being honest, capping to 120 ingame doesn't lead to any tearing I usually see in other titles that run above 100 fps.

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

yea, open your nvidia system settings.
this one here
https://gyazo.com/e2d1ea7ac42f990259ae5d2c887239cf
not the nvidia app thing.
then go to the 3D settings
you will then see the same stuff like you see on my screenshot, just in your language.
click then the tab which says on my screen "programmeinstellungen" it should say for you "program settings"
after you clicked that will your PC load for a bit (depending on how many games/stuff you have installed and how fast your SSD/HDD is)

you see then pretty much the same settings again but with the option to "add" a specific game, best is before you do that, start dead island 2 and then close it again, so you have the game executable ontop and dont need to scroll for an eternity through a ton of program and system executables.

then click add.
now will aswell, depending on your speed of your SSD/HDD aswell your PC load, it aswell will look like that the entire control center hung itself but, just let it load and wait, it usually takes 30 seconds up to 2 minutes before the mini window with all the apps pops up. do something during it, iunno watch yt, go to toilett etc XD.

after said window popped up, select the dead island 2 executable.
after that look in all the options bellow for the "max allowed framerates" and minimun allowed framerates when in background.

you can there set whatever framerate you preffer and the executable has to obbey those settings. i mentitioned the background fps settings because incase you ever putt the game into the background can you set the fps to 20 or 30 or even 1 fps if you want so, when the game is minimized/in background aka you not doing anything in it strains it not your gpu and cpu ^^. if you dont care about that, then dont do that tho ^^.

oh yea, dont forget to click apply on the bottom right after you setted it tho XD.
totally forgot that ^^.
this works aswell with every other game which might not be in the nvidia app like it is the case with a lot of indie games etc.

Brother... it worked... thank you <3 My GPU fans also thank you (surprisingly noticeable drop in temps and noise in capping to 95fps from 120).

Begs the question - what's the point of the Nvidia app? I don't think it was rolled out very well - pretty buggy - keeps optimising my games even after I turn optimisation off and loses all my applied/override settings with every driver update. Proper beta app. Shameful.

Thanks again bro - currently playing this and Dying Light 2 at the same time and comparing and contrasting. Both are great.

Take care, THANK YOU!
