To fix:
1. Right click on Dead Island 2 in your steam library, and go to "Browse Local Files"
(Or manually navigate to SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dead Island 2)
2. Open DeadIsland.ini in a text editor of your choice.
3. Change NoOperation=0 to NoOperation=1
4. Save the file and close it
5. Start up Dead Island 2 again. It will give you an error message about the game not starting properly, but just hit ENTER to get past it and you can play normally again.
If that doesn't work:
1. Go to Epic Games website
2. Unlink your steam account
3. Right click on Dead Island 2 in your library, and verify integrity of game files
4. After it is done, relaunch Dead Island 2
5. DO NOT LINK YOUR EPIC ACCOUNT. It should work from now on.
Great! Glad you got it working!
