Wilus,

Hi, I'm guessing you are starting out on your first play-through? There are no difficulty settings as such. DL2 was designed as a co-op, but I think its more enjoyable as a solo. However I struggled to get to grips with the game play style, especially with the fist boss fight.

One thing that does make a difference is your starting character. I found Ryan the easiest as he is quite resilient and can take a beating lol. Although everyone seems to have their own preferences.

After that its down to coordination and not getting hit so much. Use kick and block to keep them off you and keep moving. When you get the timing right there's some awesome take downs, and don't forget the head stomps, so satisfying lol.

Cheers

I'm playing as jacob and I have 2700 health and teh zombies still only have to hit me 5 to 6 times and i'm dead. I'm dodging and everything, so not quite sure. I even made sure to use the cards that don't hinder me.

Your problem is that this game was designed for co-op play; it is decidedly hostile to solo players. Choosing a slayer to represent you that is quick and agile is a mistake. You need to select a tank, either Ryan or Carla. The enemies one-hit kill characters like Amy or Jacob; such slayers must have combat support to survive long. Combat is far easier and simpler for co-op teams having at least two tank-like slayers on their rosters. I wouldn't advise having a slayer such as Amy represent you until you've had at least one playthrough under your belt, and can access better weapons sooner from the locker.

Just started this game and noticed the zombies have large chunk of health even at low level. I'm at lv4 btw, weapons break easily, even using Ryan dropkick only deals little damage, taking lot of tries before they reach below half of health and open to finishing move. Seriously am I noob or something. 🤣🤣🤣

You need perfect blocks/dodges, especially early on. At level 15 or so (Jacob) I built a good maiming sword that cuts multiple limbs in one swing, but you need matching perk cards and weapon mods for that. I never played Ryan, but I'm guessing he's more of a heavy hammer type of guy. Read the info, the game tells you everything you need to know how to utilize your character properly. Contrary to some beliefs, the game is hostile to those who can't read.

I do not understand why people think this game is hard.
I finished the game as Amy.

Must be skill issue.

Just reading the people here make me regret buying the game, if the community is this Toxic.

It would be a shame if you are put off DI2 its a good game. I've found the community on this forum to be very helpful. There is a bit of a misunderstanding of play-style but its not toxic compared to some steam forums lol.

I loved dead island and riptide, open world FPS in general. DI2 is more of a linear console type game, level up and repeat. Not the sort of thing I would usually play, so I had a little trouble adapting. Once I got the hang of the game, zombie slaying was so satisfying.

People did say they didn't understand the trouble I was having, but they still helped. Cheers

Just beat the bride at lv6 using swift office sword and I can conclude that was not really hard. All I need was patience and some strategies e.g dodging just like you said. I understand now how the card system works and how it impacts the character peeformance and ready to head to Beverly Hills.
