Multiplayer

I'm looking to get this purely for multiplayer. There will be 3 of us playing at a time, but I'm reading reviews and comments that this doesn't work. Can anyone please provide feedback on this issue?
(One review to this statement had laughing faces, so I was wondering if there is more to it, and it's only 3 players past a certain point or in a certain mode?)

Me and my friend can't stay connected more than 15 minutes.

Played for about 5 hours yesterday (in co-op entire time) and had no issues staying connected. For 110 hours I've played since launch, co op worked for me personally, didn't run into any issues playing with friends.

I've played about 30 hours co-op with one friend. We co-oped the entire story from level 1 to 30 and all the DLC.
The only issue we had was once when my internet was spotty. Rebooting the modem fixed that. Otherwise, no problems. Runs well. The story is fun solo and co-op.
