Random people just want to speedrun and cant even fight the simpliest Zombies "with names", It's so laughable!!!
Playing coop with the wrong people, will ruin your game, so avoid it, by all means!
Take your time and dont rush the game and read all the documents, which you can find on your first playthrough, otherwise you will miss a lot. When you play coop, you wont get the time to read anything... means you will miss about 50% of the story!
Bad coding, it should instantly set the fps rate to the same as the hosts for all guests, having to do it yourself is just really lazy coding, i kinda get it as the people that join are actually playing it in the hosts pc ( peer2peer ) but this still should not affect other people, really strange.
This is a really good advice because about 40% of the "unique" zombies (named zombies) are locked behind Journals discovery. (The remaining 60% are quest/story related or NG+ additional unique spawns.)
Unlike Dead Island 1 & Riptide which had named zombies mostly for mission only, Dead Island 2 has a series of unique zombies (some for lore/fun, some for rewards) that will only spawn once you find their relevant journal (story) in the world.
Once you find the Lore/Journal part that unlock a named zombie, it will respawn at the same location randomly or as you return to its spawn specific place.
Another reason why you don't want to rush the story/game is because elite zombies types are locked behind progression. If you rush the story/maps without scarvenging and finding the moddings (crafting) blueprints, you'll unlock new elite zombies without having much to defend against them. Lots of the "good" stuff (cards & blueprints) are hidden away behind small bits of puzzles. (Some requires you to find a hidden path around, some others requires you to do specifics actions to open a path.)
The only problem with coop, at the moment, is that there's no in-game VOIP without using a 3rd party app/software. The game has a in-game text chat system that works only for PC users. (Default key: U)
The only in-game "audio" communication is a crappy Amazon's Alexa pre-defined set of taunt/voices sets that requires you to connect your game to your Amazon account and use the built-in Alexa app by speaking through it. (For example, if you want healing, you say something alike to "I need to heal" and Alexa listen and will make your character call out the action. In a way, it's kinda impressive how many possible taunt/voice you can make your character shout, but it's also quite limited compared to proper VOIP and it can be extremely slow because anything you say requires Alexa to analyze it and apply the proper voicie/action (which can take 1-4 secs).
The Amazon's Alexa in-game built-in app is optional, but it's the only way of doing audio communication in-game without going for Steam chat or Discord or else.
