Neighborhood Watch Solo
I think Neighborhood Watch really needs a rebalance for solo. Considering the missions usually consist of a lot of carrying objects that shouldn't be dropped. There is a large amount of enemy spawns that can make that an issue for solo players. But I don't think that is the main issue.

I think the main issue is the timers. I think a timer to ready up or return to the safe house after a run for singleplayer is pretty silly. I think at the very least it should be increased.

It's an interesting concept that I could find myself enjoying but as it is right now, it doesn't really feel very solo-friendly.

Yep, theres a few thread saying the same.

Unbalanced for solo even for coop
Wiesshund Oct 23, 2024 @ 12:45pm
I have not played it yet, but what i have read of it (from the dev) suggests that it is not intended for solo play but for co-op, so it is probably not at all balanced for playing alone

Oh really? That's a shame. I thought I heard somewhere that it was supposed to be "solo-friendly". That would explain the difficulty I've been experiencing.

The official writings do not give me the impression it is
Nor player reports of it, even with 4 friends it is supposed to be quite difficult

You might be mixing up the Neighborhood Watch with the NG+ part which were added with the same patch and often part of the same "what's upcoming" news.
Neighborhood Watch is 100% targeted toward coop with at least 2 players.
NG+ is hard, but totally soloable as long as the player knows and can properly use the game's RPG elements.

Welcome to Neighborhood Watch, a brand-new cooperative horde mode for Dead Island 2

*drops mic*

Taking place over the span of five fictional days, Neighborhood Watch sees a group of college kids - the Bobcats - defend their frat house from an approaching zombie horde.

Initially, you and your friends complete a variety of missions, setting traps, and stockpiling weapons as you prepare your defenses.

Then, on the fifth and final day, the zombie onslaught begins! If your defenses, skills, and teamwork are up to the task, you might just live to tell the tale.

Best of all, you’ll constantly be unlocking abilities to make your next run more successful and exciting than the last.

Team up with your friends and defend the neighborhood.

Can you not read?

"a brand-new cooperative horde mode"

"you and your friends "

"Team up with your friends "

It never says a word about being Solo, never alludes to being Solo

Yes, i can, in multiple languages.

But feel free to cling to your incorrect interpretation, how ever it makes you feel about things.

And of course there are the pre release announcements.
But i suppose those also do not mean the actual words they say?

Info on what it was going to be was not exactly secret, it has been talked about for a while.

I've tried playing solo Neighborhood Watch a few times.

It's more relaxing without needing to keep up with rushers due to the elite enemy spawn when separated from teammates; taking my time to loot, and doing things my own way.

It's very manageable with Hunter on Days 1 to 4. Especially using Firecrackers and Meat Traps, they can easily take down hordes of enemies.

Also, focus on using only 2 weapons, one of main use and one for backup. Preferably maiming since they can crit easily by targeting limbs which also slows enemy down and disables some of their attacks.

I don't recommend Frenzy since it uses durability fast and takes a while to build up to crit. Also Headhunter requires too much precision to crit. Bulldozer needs time to charge Heavy Attack for crit. So Maiming weapons are better overall.

Now the only problem with solo I've always had in Neighborhood Watch is Day 5. Even with 100 trap parts and setting up Meat Traps at all doors and entrances, I still have to defend 2 lanes at a time until the final wave where 3 lanes come at once.

I've never beaten Day 5 solo because of this. I think for solo, game should only spawn 1 lane at a time until final wave where at most there should be 2 lanes.

Same as the guy above.
I enjoy playing days 1-4 at at my own speed with hunter and it's easily manageable. Then three doors at once on day 5 just insane. Boosting their durability on solo seems like a fix.
Wiesshund Oct 26, 2024 @ 11:53am
Fix implies that it is broken.

It isn't broken, it simply was not intended for solo play.
You cant even begin it without creating an online lobby 1st
