Coop play between epic and steam

Hello, i bought the game on epic when it was launched and a friend of mine bought it on steam this week.
He linked his steam account on epic and while in game activates EOS.

I see him on the "join game" menu although there is a yellow circle by his name and clicking on his name does absolutly nothing.

As when i start a game on my own, it is the same for him: he sees me with a lil yellow circle and clicking on my name does nothing for him too.

This is rather annoying... Does anyone has a solution to this ?

i've found a "workaroud":

first my friend has to remove any link between epic and steam.
Then, we both start the game. When asked, he must say no to linking epic and steam while I start a game (crossplay and opened for friends)
He goes into options and link epic and steam and only then, he joins my game.

Only the person with the game on epic must start the game... This really needs a FIX, this is really awful and looks like something you'd get on a game ALPHA ... so much unpolished
