Please, stop...You are just embarassing yourself at this point :).
This reminded me of using optical with a Sound Blaster card. When using optical from the Sound Blaster Live/X-Fi, you would configure the speaker settings for the 3.5mm device and set the 3.5mm device as the default audio device. Games would send audio to the 3.5mm device and the Sound Blaster driver would encode it to Dolby or DTS 5.1 and send it out through the optical device.
This is what I would try with the Realtek:
IF USING DOLBY/DTS ENCODING for optical:
1. Set the Realtek speakers / 3.5mm device as the default audio device
2. Configure the Realtek 3.5mm device as a 5.1 speaker configuration
3. Ensure the Dolby/DTS encoding is enabled in the Realtek software
4. Test game
IF USING OPTICAL WITHOUT DOLBY/DTS ENCODING
1. Set the Realtek speakers / 3.5mm device as the default audio device
2. Configure the Realtek 3.5mm device as a stereo speaker configuration
3. Test game
Optical is limited to uncompressed stereo or 5.1 Dolby/DTS lossy encoding. I assume the Realtek driver should be capturing audio from the 3.5mm device and passing it to the optical device.
Most games output audio based on the default audio device's configuration in Windows. If the default audio device is set to 5.1, but you're only outputting through optical without Dolby/DTS encoding, you're going to be missing audio; the center and surround audio goes into a void, which creates a 'low audio' condition.
O dear
Ill-informed is what you are.
There is a reason for a private profile. why even bring that up
you just broke the steam rule "being disrespectful " so that qualifies as a warning. good job.
i already stated that I tested with both connections with no problems, not to mention i'm running Realtek drivers like the other guy so not sure how you came to that conclusion.
I didn't act with out thinking so again not sure why you came to another incorrect conclusion
i'm not embarrassed. I'm LMAO though and enjoying the game with no audio problems. unfortunately I cant say the same for you it seems. :).
Headphones? Optical 2.0? 3.5mm jack?

lol. sure sure. stay salty. im playing the game with no problems :)
I'm using a USB headset as well, I have 7.1 turnt off. But i have to turn on Windows Sonic for Headphones in the sound settings. Otherwise i cant hear anyone talking. Kind of ridiculous, seeing as this is the only game that does it.
I had the same issue
I fixed it with turning my surround sound off and playing on stereo sound
I don’t have surround sound. That’s the weird thing. I’m using a 2.0 speaker set up, but with optical not a 3.5mm jack. This is the only game that’s doing this. So it’s something within the games audio settings that users can’t change that’s doing this.
