Something being likeable is completely subjective. Nothing random strangers say should matter. Do some research. Why would it matter that Tyrone in South Africa likes the game or not.
Tyrone from South Africa didn't like it!? then i'm out
"So, I've played this game for a long time since it came out on Epic. I absolutely adore it. It's loosely connected to the first one, with a character appearance and reference or so, but it could easily stand on its own. The story is completely new, and it embraces being silly. The characters are over-the-top, and it's really fun. Don't expect anything too serious. It has moments, but it's mainly here to have fun.
The combat is fantastic. This game is one that doesn't show it's full hand early. The beginning combat can feel a bit repetitive. But as you learn the combat and get more skills as the game goes on, it really opens up and lets you fight how you want.
It's a game that's become a sort of comfort game for me. I can load it up and run around mindlessly killing zombies just for the fun of it. I've had a great time with the game, and hopefully others will, too"
The music is superb. The graphics are good and so is the performance - very seldom these days.
The story is mumbo jumbo tho don't expect anything good in this regard. The side missions are alot of fun an very creative. The world is not empty and feels like there actually have been people living.
The animations are also nice they don't look like the standard Unreal Engine Assets(which makes me not buy and hate games for a long time).
I haven't been long in for the gunplay tho, for that you might want to ask somebody else. Oh and the puzzles are nice aswell, some harder ones rarely tho and some easier ones.
So everyone who asks someone with expierence about their opinion is not a grown up and everyone who watches a video or read an article from a game magazine is dumb or what? When other opinions dont matter, what are you doing here in the Steam forums?
(User Secreth was blocked by me for obvious reasons "trolling")
At least one, thanks ;-)
Thank you ;-)
Thank you ;-)
being a big fan of the original dead island.. I like it so far.. it's not as open obviously but thats ok. the graphics and gore are fantastic and it runs really really well. i was a afraid being on a 10gb 3080 that it would give me problems like other games have but thankfully it's butter smooth at 4k. the script writing is a bit..merr...but the game is fun. if you like original you will probably like this 2.
That "not so open and linear" worries me a bit, but thas just because i keep comparing it to Dying Light accidently over and over in my head. I have played DI1 aswell and i think it was also much more linear then DL and was no problem there for me either ;-)
I was also kind of expecting it to be more comedy than horror, but just like the original Dead Rising it's a horror game first with some comedy elements (and quite funny too imo). This I do like.
For context I really enjoyed the original and equally enjoyed both Dying Lights. Only Riptide was I disappointed with.
Obviously dying light is the superior game, but some people can't handle the complexity.
Dead Island is a simplified version
That being said ... Now you know what type of player plays which
Game is ok, I got it on the epic store. It's linear, so don't expect open world.
Other than that ... It's just another zombie game ... Don't expect the story to win Emmy awards
