I played it on Epic at the release, game is pretty bad.

No more open world
Area pretty generic, no more beautiful Island.
Boss fights are terribly bad.
Non-charismatic heroes and characters, can not tell you the name of any secondary characters.
Game story take itself too seriously compared to the first one... and fail. Dead Island 1 was a parody of zombies movie.

I really loved DI 1 and Riptide but this one, aw... also played and enjoyed Dying light 1 and 2 but Dead Island 2 is really bad... lazy work

If you buy that kind of game you support lazy devs. Inb4 my thread deleted since you can not say bad things about devs or video games nowday. :)

Not everyone loves open world, bloated slop. I think that's an absolute good change.

I'd argue, alot of areas are beautiful and look unique in DI2 such as movie set, Hollywood Boulevard and the pier. DI1 falls flat right after you leave the beach and get to the city. Areas and visuals just go down hill from there.

Eh wouldn't say bad, just mid. Bosses are pretty interesting though.

Aside from the main cast of heroes in DI1, I only remember Sinamoi. Every other character was very generic and didn't bring anything interesting to the story.

But that's literally...first Dead Island...

We all have different opinions and takes, you think game bad, I think game good. Everyone will have their own. It's all fine in that, but please stop saying that the game devs were lazy because you are absolutely wrong about this one. Aside from the fact that we got a fresh, good, polished, bug free game in 2023 that is fun to play, Dambuster cares about the video game industry. You should read up on them and their legacy of the studio and their troubles with Homefront The Revolution.

imo the best DI ever ( PO / bought on EGS ) , I even enjoyed it more than DL1 and 2.

no bugs and glitches, I am pretty sure the framerate is great , beautiful graphics, satisfying smashing and butchering enemies, I liked the ending ( not the best one, but not bad )

Kinda disappointing.

I played it on a friends PC and the game is extremely short and the writing is pain to listen to.

Yeah, game is pretty short. Finished it in coop under a day and we did lot of sidequest we were not rushing.

I even enjoyed Dying Light 2 that everyone hate but this one, no way....

In my opinion it's more enjoyable than the first one. Didn't even complete DI1 because it always felt very clunky and slow.

Literally the game went from open world to searching for keys simulator, they even removed the idea of san francisco + driving cars + geopharm vehicles easter egg, people literally liked this game because of the graphics and gore like bro?? wdym?? we just lost alot of content back there!?


Dead Island 2 pre alpha is better than what am seein right now, thats not a good sign man.

Loved the game, even if i found it a pain to play Solo too often (It is sadly made for Coop). It's not the best zombie game, but it was funny and entertaining.

Beside the coop oriented gameplay, i do hate that the game doesnt have a ending, so we have to wait for DI3.

I loved Dead Island, Dead Island Riptide, and I even loved Dying Light. I absolutely HATED Dying Light 2, it just was so horrible from launch, and isn't even better now. Feels like a chore to play. That said, I am loving Dead Island 2. It's so fun, it keeps things simple which I like. It's like they took the original Dead Island and just upgraded the engine, but keeping the gameplay similar. I honestly would very much welcome a remake/remaster of the Dead Island/Riptide if they could play like this game does.

Cute you think the first one was open world? One very linear open world with a lot of restrictions yeah lolz so no not even open world just linear with little cul-de-sac areas that had loot. None of the DI series has been actual open world and the only real difference is you can't climb on the roof of most buildings.
