(Online Gameplay Unavailable) unable to co-op

so in the main menu "join game" is grayed out and unclickable , so is "online" under options. as well as "session and social" buttons in the in game menu. friend sent multiple game invites and can't join him either. tried unistalling epic launcher and changing ini. file to no avail either. is there a fix for this?

edit: yes, i complete the "call for cavalry quest".

Bruh y’all need to learn to read. It says you have to get to a certain point in the game to unlock coop… y’all be a bag of bricks.

so i figured out the fix. it's different than the other posts about this.

i unistalled the game, epic launcher and the epic online service apps. updated my windows. redownloaded and installed the game. before running the game, i went into the game files.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead Island 2

delete the epic online service folder and change the config file to NoOperation=1

co-op works now. ;-)

I feel like there is some fundamental misunderstanding with the basic operation of this game. You don't need the epic launcher, I'd say that right there is probably a huge factor to why you all may be experiencing some issues.
