WTF is with the zombie respawning
You clear an area out and turn around or go back inside a house they've already respawned...

edit: To clarify for every my issue isn't with having to kill lots of zombies. Yes I bothers my OCD a bit but my issue is when you clear a building/room/parking lot walk 5 feet and turn around to seen everything re spawned its kinda of dumb I would understand if you left the area and came back but the fact that the second the area is out of my FOV BANG zombies have re spawned its poor game design

Yeah I hate it too, I like making sure I looted everything, they item respawn seems a bit over tuned as well

I agree 100%. If they would flood in from the outside of specific entry points I wouldn't mind, but running through a house and see a zombie in the same corner where I just killed another one 30 seconds ago is immersion breaking.

Dead Island 1 didn't have that problem as I recall and was far more immersive that way.

Why not just be honest. You know he's not saying that.
Wished only zombies sometimes would not magically pop up from your back when most of the times they appear through script entrances ( coolest thing ever ) but there is one time or another after you clean that area and idle for 3 minutes...ohh another walker is scratching your back without you even noticing.

This is the only bad thing, but the respawn script are fun in my opnion. They crawl from vents, sewers hatches or plant walls in Bel-Air.

the scripted stuff is fine the clearing a room and coming back for their to a be zombie not 20 seconds later is kinda annoying

Whats the problem? More zombies the better. Its literally the whole point of the game. Let em spawn in every once in a while. Just adds to the whole atmosphere. What we really need is a kill meter. I want a total kill count on the main screen

That would be cool. I always loved that in the Dead Rising and Dynasty Warrior games.

If the game did not respawn them the game would be boring as ever because there would be nothing to use your cool weapons on and nothing to see the amazing gore system. You can easily run away from hordes in this game, especially with the right throwables to stun them so its not like your forced to stop and kill everything you see.
Yet nothing what you mentioned is what he complained about. But I guess it’s always nice to make something up and argue against that instead. Good job.

I think the zombie respawning is a bit of a double edged sword.

1) In some scenarios this is absolutely arbitrary. (like OP said) You walk a few metres away or just turn around and they blantantly respawned back. It is VERY questionable how fast this happens.

On the other hand i was doing the hotel mission and after leaving the hotel, some zeds respawned in the parking lot infront of that - it's kinda reasonable since they could have walked in, right?

2) Sometimes 'respawns' also happen by some zeds coming out of shrubbery or falling down from a wall. (Sometimes when you don't look)
Runners also climb over fences when you enter an area. (this sometime happens with a delay or got triggered when you looted a chest) That's kind of a natural/realistic imo.

What else i've noticed that some 'bodies' reanimate when you blow up stuff or make noise. On the street back to Bev-Hills i accidently hit a car alarm and the (visible) empty street was swarmed by a lot of walkers that 'woke up' fast.

I've been in small areas that I've cleared and it seems that a zombie would spawn just outside of the viewable area when I moved the camera.

It's like old Nintendo games where things respawn just outside the screen area.
