Always online requirement, avoid if you were planning to play primarily on your Steam Deck or other portables

quite spreading false info it worked offline without internet it just takes time to get past checking entitlements

Rather than dropping in saying I'm spreading misinformation, what would be significantly more productive would be if you stated something like how long "a while" is; I waited 15 minutes on checking entitlements and didn't get in, another several people here where you posted the same thing:

Didn't have any success either. As far as I can see on the forums, you're the only person stating you put your system fully offline (not offline mode in Steam, it still uses your internet connection for certain titles) and were able to get in "after a while".

So, can you tell us specifically how long you waited, did you ensure you were genuinely without any internet connection, and what else you did to get in the game in a fully offline state rather than just picking a fight? Please and thank you.

Misinformation at its finest. The game can be played offline. There's a litterally an option for it in the game.

They own the game and they thoroughly tested playing offline. It didn't work if they didn't have access to an internet connection. Just look at the post above your post instead of giving out that righteous indignation.

I could tell my experience hope it helps.

I tried it offline right now, it took around 5 minutes to load, what i did? first once it got downloaded, i loaded it online, then after like a phew minutes (5 aprox) i turned it off, in those 5 minutes i opened the game, continue my file alittle and thats it.

Then i closed the game and turn off the Wifi menu, after it i reopen it, yes it takes a while to pass that entlitements, but as for me it took 5 minutes, i left the deck on my table to check, and i was able to continue.

Im preparing cuz tomorrow i have a day of no internet so i gotta have the game running offline for tomorrow XDD

So now i completly removed internet , turned off the deck and then turn on

I opened the game and it takes waay more, it took 12 minutes to load.
