So besides the Epic issues, is it worth?
I been waiting for DI2 for years since the jogging guy trailer at E3 many moons ago. Is it worth playing? I avoided watching any videos and reviews for it. Only thing i know its not Open world, but kinda semi? like small linear zones is that correct?

I would really like an honest opinion if its worth dropping for the gold or not.

Its a semi open-world yeah. The game is split in areas, but each of them offers a good amount of exploration and stuff to find if you want to.

I played it on PS5 a year ago and already had a blast. I missed the DLC's completely and now the game is on Steam, I purchased the Gold Edition and will play through the game once more including the DLC areas :)

I love the game, it's just a zombie-slayer done pretty right in my opinion.
Many different weapons and just the best gore there is for a game like this.

The best thing to do is watch some videos about the game. I've watched a good amount of streams on twitch and videos on youtube and the game looks like fun.

It's been over on the EGS for a year so they've managed to squash tons of the issues it had on the EGS launch.

There are no issues with Epic. It's blown out of proportion. You literally press ONE BUTTON at the first launch and it connect accounts. You don't even need to enter some login/password or anything.

The story is beyond terrible but thats not really why people play these type of games anyways lol. Long as that doesnt bother you then yeah its a pretty good game.

It doesn't force you to install Epic Launcher, where the hell you get this dumb fake information? Developer himself answered here on forums confirming you don't need to install it but people are still spreading misinformation.

Thanks, yea the story was never my concern, i loved DI1 and Riptide and had a blast just chopping things around. Riptide especially was awful will never forget that random guy just saying "NUKE" with very poor animations lmao.

Well i picked it up! can't wait to play it a bit before bed.

I was just reading the other post and some reviews regarding it.

The game is freaking BUILT WITH THE UNREAL ENGINE, so if for some reason you think Epic sucks, full stop there, and yes, it allows crossplay with Epic Online Services, which is a single button press to decline, and doesn't install anything.

Simple answer. If you liked the original Dead Island where the focus was on first person zombie slaying, in brutal ways, with some lite RPG elements and loot, then yes. This game hands down has the best feeling first person combat and the best gore system in a game like this.

Also just a heads up, as another poster said this game is semi-open world with smaller open zones, like the original but minus the vehicles. So if your expecting some huge open world like the dying light games that is not what this game is about, the smaller zones are much more detailed the other games, and most of not all of it has some importance due to how side quests work.

I don't own it on steam but i put close to 100hr (across 2 playthroughs and the 2 DLCs) into it on Epic and I love the game. Its one of the best zombie games to release in years and the best part is the port is polished, with good visuals, good optimization, and very little bugs.
