Ending seemed pretty sudden

Don't get me wrong, i've been thoroughly enjoying the game. But am I the only one who felt like the ending was really sudden/ anticlimactic and didn't really resolve anything? Is there going to be a sequel or any DLC that would progress the story further?

Original Dead Island endings didn't have any happy ending or solved people's problem.

Dead Island series has always had horrible narratives. This one seemed like it would be decent, but I remember coming out of the subway onto Hollywood Blvd was the exact moment where everything went to ♥♥♥♥. Characters did a complete 180 in personality and the plot rushed itself to completion while answering nothing. I could give a pass to the first game because it was more off a gradual decline in narrative, but this game actually pissed me off with how horribly they handled the ending.
