I have no idea honestly. But unfortunately there are a lot of people, including me, who had trouble launching the game at all because of this error. And looking at the number of threads here about this or similar problems and the players who are trying to do something about it so that they can simply play the game they bought, this is simply a pathetic.
EPIC are insidious, theys gonna get ya.
Seriously though, unfortunately D!2 uses the Unreal Engine and Unreal is EPIC's property so that's probably why EOS is bundled with the Steam release, aside from crossplay that is. What I find interesting is that these various platforms; Steam, EPIC, EA, still require additional software instead of an established plug-in system between the clients. Seems half done.
The issue blew when Dambuster Studio attempted to fix launching this hotfix. As long you don't run Verify the integrity of cache files or run EOS script. The game will not get in conflict with a infinite loading issue or ''EOS not found'' errors.

2. Go to Start - Settings - Apps and uninstall Epic Games Launcher. Windows should ask for permission to action. First permission to uninstall Epic Game Launcher - Yes. Second permission to uninstall Eos - No.
That`s all
worked! thanks to you.
