completed it on 2 different characters and didn't get the electric sword either time. Damn thing dropped for my co-op partners and not me. No popup and nothing in lost loot. makes me not want to play at all if rewards are null when I finish a quest.

Sure you get better loot as you progress, but that's assuming rewards at the end of a mission are properly distributed! Even then the random network errors and disconnections are incredibly frustrating outside of this box not giving me my quest loot

These quest loots do work as intended when playing on singleplayer mode. Beware they are not lootable again once completed. These larger chests can only be opened one time only.
Is boring as frack.

Same just happened to me last night. I was the host but received nothing when the chest was opened. Nothing in unclaimed storage. Nothing after restarting the game.
I was having fun up until that point, but there is nothing more frustrating in a game than wasting time for some BS like this to happen.

could be because you already got it before in another game play for same map or quest ..
(check level here too)

you can't fault the game for remembering something you didn't know or forgot ..

joining someone's else's game wont give you what you already have or picked up already ..
(for same level play through that you've already played with same said character)
