I am affraid that I will go for a full refund... this is totally unacceptable!!
They really need to standardize this as soon as possible.
Indeed, I totally agree !!
btw... thanks again for your help.
I appreciate it!
But this, saved my day:
If you don't want to play Dead Island 2 Steam version with EGS runned
1, Make sure the Epic Store program is uninstalled. Then, follow these steps:
2, Before launching the game for the first time, navigate to "X:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dead Island 2" and delete the EpicGameLauncher folder.
3. Next, open the "DeadIsland.ini" file (file is in Dead Island 2 directory) in Notepad and modify "NoOperation=0" to "NoOperation=1".
4. If the Epic Games Launcher is already installed on your computer, uninstall it before proceeding with the steps above.
And finally YES!!!!
This save my day:
==>> Open the "DeadIsland.ini" file (file is in Dead Island 2 directory) in Notepad and modify "NoOperation=0" to "NoOperation=1". <==
THANKS MATE!!
you clowns need to be banned on sight
1. On Steam, right-click on Dead Island 2 in your Library and disable the Steam Cloud saves
2. Type %localappdata% into a Windows Explorer window or into the Run window after pressing Win Key + R on your keyboard
3. Locate the following folders (you may possess only one of them): "DeadIsland" & "DeadIslandSteam", these folders contain your local saves for Dead Island 2 (respectively for the Epic and Steam versions), please delete them
4. Launch the Game again, you will be offered to Connect to Epic once again, you can either skip it or confirm it.
5. You may experience an infinite loading when connecting to Epic, if that happens; quit the game again and launch it a second time.
6. The issue should be resolved then and you can enable the Steam Cloud saves again, however, Steam will warn you of a save conflict, and we recommend selecting to keep the Local save files.
7. This step is not from PLAION support: Uninstall the "Epic Online Services" App from Windows, and reinstall it by using this method: (a)right click on deadiland Game on Steam, (b) press Manage and Open local files, (c) Open "EpicOnlineServices" folder and (d)install it again by running the "EpicOnlineServicesInstaller.exe".
8. This step is not from PLAION support: Open the "DeadIsland.ini" file (file is in Dead Island 2 directory) in Notepad and modify "NoOperation=0" to "NoOperation=1".
9. Run the Game from Steam. You will notice some additional anoying messages, but at last, the Game will run...!!! (hopefully!!)
IMPORTANT NOTE: On Step 6 if you choose yo keep the local files (that is the PLAION suggestion) you will loose all the game history and you to start from the beggining... (but at least the game works... even after some anoying warnings and messages!!)
"Open the "DeadIsland.ini" file (file is in Dead Island 2 directory) in Notepad and modify "NoOperation=0" to "NoOperation=1""
solved the problem for me. I didn't need to uninstall anything or delete any saves.
You said in another thread that you were uninstalling this game, why are you still here? Also, just cancel the login. It's incredibly simple.
The fact i finished the game does mean i cant discuss it anymore? What do you think, only people who are playing at this very moment can post here?
Regardless, nobody cares that it works for you, nobody cares about you, this thread is clearly for people with a problem,
What are YOU doing here?
