only challenge is maybe later in the fight, running with the orb towards the stage without ending up stuck in the envoirment for some glitchy reason. :)
I did it at level 30 of course and it was the last mission I played. game says there are still missing people quests to do but nothing showing up anymore.
I beat that Dirge fight with nothing but a military knife and a katana!
Solo, first try, and went in blind; was getting worried about durability towards the end but that was FUN :D
Just have to time your blocks right (stuns him and prevents damage) get a few crits in then repeat.
On horde phases just abuse the OP counter attack spam to overheal damage or switch to slice and dice for apex variants.
You can usually bait him to attack you (unless he's doing the blood spray, better to run and slide at him to avoid the majority of the damage) and either dodge or block him to stagger him for a bit of breathing room to focus on dealing with the orb, if you do get a little overwhelmed just back away from the area to heal and get a bit more spacing from him.
I would HIGHLY recommend the Ripper with the explosion on kill modifier since the overcharge state usually oneshots the zombies around orbs and the AoE spread can deal pretty decent damage to other zombies around the orb too, I personally used Emma's Wrath to deal with Dirge itself since I picked Dani, so I just used her heavy attack advantage to it's fullest.
But it's somewhat more a game of patience then just trying to go all in, since Dirge will usually just teleport, bloodspray you and kill you pretty quickly if you do it haha.
If you pick the right headseeker - then every counter attack is an automatic critical hit too.
AND there is side quest with same apex in TIGHT ass place to fight..that took few tries also..but the rest of DLC mainly...faceroll until I reach my crack
For some reason, that one took me 1 try only. They have much lower HP than the final boss.
Final boss took me at least 5 tries.
