Stuttering and FPS drop on 3070Ti (and forward)
Straight to the question: did your Dead Island 2 PC version stutter and drop fps without no reason?
Like, you're on capped 60fps smoothly, all the settings on Ultra without FSX then after while, maybe when you "Alt+tabbing" to see some videos or listen music or to search on the web and return to game, the game starts to stutter and the fps drops to 30\20fps...
Did this happen to you? I know my system can sustain the graphic, the shadows, I know because for the first 2 hours like I said the game was capped at 60fps on Ultra settings and was absolutely smooth.

Its for bad optimization?

Let me know! I'm really curious because at least if it's all about the optimization the devs can do something with future patches!

All Ultra settings without FSX?

14900k + RTX 4090 + 128GB DDR5 RAM. Max settings but I turned off FSX. I get the occasional drop in FPS when I drop molotovs or any curveball that explodes. It fixes itself up after a few seconds but occasionally it dips below 40 FPS.

All that power and I still get performance issues. Who knew.

I think textures at ultra settings is very demanding. I brought that down to high, and I didn't experience those weird fps drops anymore.

It still stutters in venice beach though, but not too much.

And the rest of settings despite Textures are on ultra? Just setting the shadow on high on my PC make the situation a little bit more smooth but too much with many zombies on fire and similar situation

Holy ♥♥♥♥ mate, that's bad optimization of the game!
In my situation with a first series rtx card is that the longer I continue playing for +5 hours, the game will decay the perfomance even on places I was not getting before so to get fixed I close the game application and wait couple minutes and go back.

Is annoying because this game doesn't overheat as much it would like Dying Light 2 does. That game hit 70-73 celsius while Dead Island 2 doesn't go beyond 65 celsius by capping 120 frames.

it seems to be an on going issue with 40 series cards .. im on a 3080 run the game at 4k with everything max but textueres.. textures is the only setting that plumits my fps after a while. i have not used any monitering software to see the VRam usssage. but i'm guessing its either a memory leak in the game or running out of vram.

Same for me, the game decay after long play, closing and reentering the game fix the problem. Im pretty sure at this point is bad optimization!

Yeah I agree just because someone has a 4000 series card and had bad performance in a game does not mean the game is unoptimized. I have not been following the 4000 series cards much but I have been hearing awfully a lot of people with them and top of the line CPUs getting terrible fram rates compared to rigs of past years/generations.

I also have a 3080 but I run the game at 1440p with textures set to high and I get stable frames, with no drops even in very intense fights with multiple zombies. To me the game is one of the better optimized AAA releases to come out in while.

FSR is also broken, if you guys happen to have it enabled. It gives worse performance.

Same for me... Incredible. Quality, balanced, performance... Just a decrease in fps when Im enabling FSR.
