Dead Island 1 was the better game
You had 4 player Co-op
Much better setting with beautiful landscapes
Talent tree so spec a class instead of lame cards.
The original game just had more soul if we're being honest about it.

I played both and played the first one multiple times and DI2 is the better game, not in all areas but overall it is better. WAY better gore and weapons and music and i much prefer the card system of skills over just unlocking them in a tree. I like the second to second exploration a lot more and sure while DI1 had a bigger map and driving which i really loved a lot of it was empty and didnt have much to do in. Story in DI1 was better and there were a lot more sidequests than 2 but thats about it.

I'm not weighing in on which game is superior but DI2 is janky as hell too.
The bugs gave og dead island it's charm, it also just had way more to offer with better ideas.

I agree 100%. Todays games last 5 years specials are more concerned on woke agenda and not hurting peoples feelings then actually making a good game, those that don’t see that r either to young or just as woke

I really enjoyed Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide. They still hold up with those jump scares today and the story was actually pretty interesting.

I never really got the hang of Dying Light and never finished it. I wish there was an easy mode because it was not that fun getting regularly overwhelmed. Obviously, I am in the minority for that take, but it was more frustrating than fun.

Tried Dead Island 2 and at least the start (that is as far as I got) was not a very good story and I could never get by the first boss fight. I got it while it was only through Epic Games and I did not like how that whole system worked. Might buy it again for Steam and see it would be easier to mod.

The original games skill tree system was incredibly rigid and set each character up to be another ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Borderlands "You really only are good at this" type of rpg.

At least this game gives us full freedom to decide how we want to play.

What a weird way of saying you've barely looked into or even played many games in the last 20 years

Loved the first game, but Dead Island 2 is so good even as a standalone. Both games are the best Zombie games I have played and will continue to play them which is why they are worth the time and money. The cards enabled you to change a flaw in character, where in the first game you were stuck with the flaw or start over. Well done to the team!

The flaw was what made them unique and varied. It forced people to actually embrace different experiences, and stretched the length of the game.
