It has Denuvo. You have to activate your game, and after that, you'll be allowed to play offline.

If you can make it work, then no, you can play it without internet. It's not an always online game. You only need to activate the first time. The bugs and other crap going around are something else entirely.

like with any game that has denuvo it requires periodic verification. you do not need to be connected during gameplay or after the first verification.
