I love it. Better than Dead Island 1 in my opinion. Lots of challenges to do.

I honestly Love it, I even 100% the achievements but if your on the fence still why not wait when its on sale? your not investing a lot if you don't like it after

well I could just get a code off of a 3rd party website for like £20 so I might just do that

I mean the Game is okay'ish but i'd still prefer Dead Island and even Riptide for that matter but if you can get it for 20 Pounds then you may as well go for it as that is hella cheap.

Yeah, it's worth it, but do the on sale thing. It's a little short, I think. Very in the vein of Dead Island, so it's a bit nostalgic. Game looks good even on an old rig like mine.

It's pretty good. I liked the slightly more diverse island setting of the prior games (had jungle, a town, a resort, ...). This time it's pretty all Hollywood and LA.

Gameplay wise, this is definitely a whole league above the original in terms in visceral combat and impact. The most disappointing thing is the lack of gun variety, although guns are a bit of a situational weapons. Other than that, also not fan of the card system. All slayers feel the same because of it. It's also quite unintuitive to quickly find a skill card because they all have very elaborate art and there is no way to filter them.

It took me about 26 hrs to complete the main story and at least half of the side quests. Still a lot to complete and haven't touched the DLCs yet. I think it's worth full price if you liked the previous games, but if you're on the fence, wait for a sale. You'll definitely get your money's worth.

Get it on the Summer Sale. It's a very good game but just wait for a sale

Dont buy for more than -75%.

If Dead island 1 was compared to Dead rising 1, Dead island 2 would be Dead rising 3 or even 4.
In this game only graphics and gore are better. Everything else is worse.
The game is tiring. Zombies spawn as soon as you turn your back on an empty street, often right in front of you, literally out of thin air as you look on it.
It doesnt really matter what you fight with once you find the best weapon color (half way thru game). You upgrade each weapon for money to your level, so you dont even have to look for anything new.
Game is linear, its not even worth exploring anything on your own, because the game will drag your ass through each building, often twice. And if you try for yourself, you will only encounter a lot of closed doors that open only during story missions.
The plot is idiotic. I know its hard to come up with something about zombies, but there is so much stupidity in this game that even B movies would be embarrassed by it. In addition about 80% of the characters are so artificial and annoying that i can only compare them to last year Saints row. And you better choose a character whose voice you like, because throughout the entire game you will be listening to him/her talking every few seconds and describing everything you do. Additionally, main hero comments are so embarrassing and stupid that for most of the game i wished i could turn them off. You know, this is one of those cases where the writer of story thinks of himself as extremely, very, extremely funny.
And game director treats the player as a complete idiot. In addition 80% of quest rewards are garbage.
Main characters are clowns, poseurs at best, and have almost no difference in terms of skills, so its mostly about stats and appearance/voice. In general skills in this game are probably some of the least useful ive seen in games. Most of them do nothing and give a small bonus to something when you do something else. Literally 80% of skills are useless.
And the maps are uninteresting, you have mainly '3 types' in the same style- a district with buildings of rich people, beaches with a small street and shops, and sewer/metro (as boring as in any other game). Thats all and everythin in one city. Dont count on variety. dlcs are a little different, but dont expect anything fancy ether.

It's janky at times and the dialogue and story aren't good.

But it's mindless fun.
