Give me (and others) a reason to finish the game.
I don't think I did anything out of the ordinary, I just played the game (because I was enjoying at first). Level 30 comes naturally before half of the story is over.
The original DI was balanced better in my opinion, it would be very very hard to reach max level (60) in one playthrough. You are still earning XP in the final boss fight, and the Ryder White missions (DLC) because more thought/care was placed in balancing.
You are right though, balancing and XP progression can be a very difficult thing, and despite our words, we all do play the game differently.
I don’t believe you hit level 30 by the time you get to Venice playing normally. I only just hit that but doing the dlc with the main story.
People reference dead island which has arguably worse combat and skill progression. Just like the thread around cards. While not perfect they have actual gameplay impact.
About the skill card, it is perfect for me. Much better than a skill tree.
i already made the point and you confirmed it by saying: Of course they cant just say "okay, the level cap is now 45" without making other changes.
progression does in fact equate to grinding.
not having any motivation to complete the game after you reached max level is a you problem. you either underestimated how they intended for people to play the game or you are looking for something this game does not offer.
But yea in terms of Questing... i think the Plot, Characters, new locations, and raw fun gameplay is what holds them together. but after thats all done, except for the gameplay part... the majority of quests themselves and tasks associated are pretty menial and forgettable. sometimes plain annoying.
just dont want to find any more circuit breakers, play with anymore valves and pipes, kill anymore zombies ive killed a hundred times with a different name after finding a key, destroy a double/triple maglock. just to find a plain ole weapon and maybe a better version of a mod.
im basically trying to finish them 1.) To complete the game 2.) slim chance of interesting weapon mod or card.
Like, grinding? What? How is playing the game normally "grinding"???
OP, I'm so sorry that you had to deal with this idiocy.
