How is it their own fault? nonsense. lmao🤡🤡🤡
Take action, get public attention.
The politicians in our country are very deceitful and corrupt, but other countries shouldn't notice that. I care a lot about politics, but whatever...
I didn't think it would turn out like this here. I actually just wanted a quick answer. If there's censorship, I just don't buy it and that's it.
If Valve would set up an age verification system, then anyone aged 18 and up could buy uncut games (and porn games), but for whatever reason, Valve refuses to do it.
Since 2015 German politics has become very liberal on the subject of violence. With 1-2 exceptions (both avoidable), all games since then have been offered uncut in regards of gore, including the Definitive Edition of Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide. Dying Light 2 has always been uncut on the PC and the gore update wasn't even worth mentioning. So violence hasn't been a problem since roughly 2015. But because the developer submitted a cut version in anticipation and without knowing anything - because, as I said, they had no idea about the subject - it was then approved by the rating board. Which is final.
So the publisher/developer is not the savior that some people see. They actively gave the German people an inferior version and see themselves as a benefactor because the game is "otherwise uncut". As an Austrian citizen, I don't care - but I still laugh about this situation and have understanding for the German customers. Of course, the "typical, presumably American youth" has no idea about the subject and posts half-knowledge. Just ignore this.
The game cannot be bought uncut in Germany. A key from key sites or from abroad is irrelevant - as soon as a German Steam account receives the key, the game is cut. Changing the game while visiting a foreign country is also of no use, as changing the region requires a payment method from there. A gift will also not work. So you are not only being passively but actively punished by the developer/publisher for being a fan as a German. So say "Thank you" to them when you see them around here.
Swastikas are no longer an exclusion criterion. The release of Youngblood was a wonderful example of this.
But 100,000 USK cut versions were sold. The manufacturer cannot know what was done with Game Exe. The manufacturer sees the many USK CUT versions in the sales figures.
This is bogus, an EXTRA German version USK from 0-18 is no longer allowed to be produced!!!
We have 38 countries in the EU + 1 country Germany where there is approval for every age. (PEGI 3+ to 18+)
But German gamers don't understand this rule, an extra German version MAY NO LONGER BE PRODUCED.
It's better not to have a German version than a German USK version.
f there is no German USK version, there are no problems. Check out Dying Light 1.
No German USK version.
No International ban (co-op.)
No censors!
