I think that, and some of the other shady things Epic has been trying to do is why a lot of devs are dropping Unreal Engine for alternatives.
exclusivity deals have nothing to do with the engine
If you're worried about "shady things" then how about Valve requiring studios and developers to sigh MFN clauses in order to sell their games on STEAM, and threatening to "de-list" any game if said studio or developer sells the games cheaper elsewhere?
Or how about Valve getting fined $1,600,00 for illegal Geo blocking?
Or being found guilty of, and fined $4,000,000 for willful patent infringement?
for me you are on the no buy list; no matter how much it gets discounted and as for your studio and publisher? take a guess
